I had my receipt, but my drivers license was apparently blocked. I was never aware of this return tracking, and now I can't clear my license.Īllan12 wrote:I went to return about $50 worth of electrical products and my return wasn't allowed. Meanwhile, I should have just swiped the AMEX so they could have processed the return. But when I made a return I would just tell them I don't have receipt cause I knew I was going to use the store credit. What made it really frustrating is that I always purchase from Home Depot on the same AMEX card. It's not like 1x a month I decide to return something at Home Depot, but I would say that over the last year I've probably done about 10 returns. However, It is reasonable that your transaction pattern would trigger a red flag. I am not suggesting that you are doing anything wrong. Now you are using a gift card for your purchases that you are attempting to return. Even though you get getting store credit, this is no way to tell that the returned items were not shoplifted. You are returning things without a receipt, possibly as often as monthly. Katietsu wrote:I believe most, if not all, major store retailers, have similar policies in place to prevent fraud.
